Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Pixport collects, why we collect it, and how we protect it. We wrote it in plain English because you should not need a lawyer to understand how your data is handled.

Who we are and what this covers

Pixport, Inc. ("Pixport", "we", "us") provides an all-in-one platform for field-service businesses to manage jobs, customers, and payments. This policy covers pixport.com, our web application, our mobile app, and related services.

It applies to you as our customer and to the information you store in Pixport about your own customers. Where your customers' data is concerned, we act as a processor on your behalf — more on that in section 4.

Information we collect

Account information: your name, email address, phone number, business name, and password when you sign up. Customer and job data: the records you upload or create in Pixport, including client contact details, job notes, estimates, invoices, e-signatures, and photos.

Payment data: subscription and payment processing is handled by Stripe. Card numbers never touch Pixport servers — Stripe collects and stores them directly under its own security certifications. We receive only limited information such as the card brand, last four digits, and transaction status.

Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages viewed, and feature usage, which help us keep the service secure and improve it. Communications: SMS messages sent and received through Pixport's two-way texting, support conversations, and emails you exchange with us.

How we use your information

We use your information to operate and improve Pixport: creating and securing your account, processing subscriptions, delivering SMS and email on your behalf, storing and categorizing your photos, and providing customer support.

We also use aggregated, de-identified usage data to understand how features perform and where to improve. We do not use your customers' data to train models for other businesses, and we never sell personal information to anyone.

Your customers' data

The client records, job details, photos, and messages you store in Pixport belong to you. We process that data only on your instructions and only to provide the service — for example, sending an invoice or a text message when you ask us to.

You are responsible for having a lawful basis to collect and store your customers' information, and for responding to any requests they make about their data. If one of your customers contacts us directly, we will refer them to you and assist you as needed.

Sharing and subprocessors

We share data only with service providers that help us run Pixport: Stripe for payments, cloud hosting providers for infrastructure and storage, an SMS carrier/provider to deliver text messages, and an email delivery service for transactional email. Each is bound by contract to protect your data and use it only to provide their service to us.

If you connect Zapier, data flows to Zapier only for the integrations you set up, under your control. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of Pixport and its users. We do not sell your data — not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone.

Cookies and analytics

We use a small number of cookies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences (like language), and understand how visitors use our website. We use privacy-respecting analytics to measure page performance in aggregate.

We do not use cookies for cross-site advertising tracking. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling essential cookies may prevent you from signing in.

Data retention and export

You can export your data — customers, jobs, invoices, and photos — at any time from your account settings, in standard formats. We keep your data for as long as your account is active.

If you close your account, we delete your data within 30 days, except for records we are legally required to keep (such as billing records) and encrypted backups that roll off on a fixed schedule shortly after.

Security

We encrypt your data in transit using TLS and at rest using industry-standard encryption. Access to production systems is restricted, logged, and reviewed.

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is available on every account, and we strongly recommend enabling it for you and every user on your team. If we ever discover a breach affecting your data, we will notify you promptly and tell you exactly what happened.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws like the GDPR or the CCPA — including the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing.

You can exercise most of these rights directly in your account settings. For anything else, email legal@pixport.com and we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law — and usually much faster.

Children

Pixport is a business tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us at legal@pixport.com and we will delete it.

International transfers

Pixport is operated from the United States, and your data is stored on servers located there. If you use Pixport from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

Where required, we rely on recognized transfer mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses to protect data transferred from other regions.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Pixport evolves or as laws change. If we make a material change, we will notify you by email or in the app before it takes effect. The "Last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version.
